Lecture 12: Potential Energy Diagrams

Objectives: In this lecture, students will learn to

• apply energy conservation to more complex example problems
• relate potential energy to force
• analyze potential energy diagrams
• infer information about speed from potential energy diagrams
• identify positions of equilibrium
• use the concept of potential diagrams to model the interaction of atoms in a diatomic molecule
