Lecture 27: Wave motion

Objectives: In this lecture, students will learn to

• distinguish between transverse and longitudinal waves
• analyze traveling waves in terms of wave length, frequency, and wave speed
• distinguish between wave speed and transverse speed
• relate the speed of a wave on a string to properties of the string
• solve problems involving the Doppler effect
