derive a differential equation for simple harmonic oscillation
describe oscillations in terms of amplitude, period, frequency and angular frequency
analyze simple harmonic motion using energy concepts
analyze the motion of a simple pendulum
analyze the motion of a physical pendulum
distinguish between physical and simple pendulum
